Jiu-Jitsu Outlet #31: Alundas Havens - "Go ALL In"

Alundas Havens On How Wrestling & The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) Made Him A Better Entrepreneur

Training in martial arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Judo, wrestling, & Muay Thai is my outlet for improving my mental health and becoming a better person.

On this thirty-first episode of the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet podcast, I talk to Alundas Havens. Growing up as a wrestler, Alundas experienced how grappling can help improve mental toughness. As an adult, Alundas was able to transition this mindset into a successful career in the US Marine Corps. Since leaving the service, Alundas has built himself a career in digital media that is providing a life for himself and his family.

A life of grappling and military service has taken its toll on Alundas' body. On this episode, Alundas shares about the steps he is taking to get back to the mats after having to stop due to injury. We talk about how the mindset developed through martial arts sticks with a person, even when they are not able to train.

Alundas opens up about how he had to take pharmaceutical drugs to deal with panic attacks. He shares why this mainstream method did not work and why he instead chooses cannabis to help with his journey of recovery.

You will learn about how grappling prepares a child for a rigorous life. We also discuss the pros and cons of using cannabis vs. pharmaceutical drugs and how martial arts training helped Alundas when he was deployed with the USMC.

This is an episode you do NOT want to miss.
