Robert Drysdale On The Jiu-Jitsu Outlet Podcast

Training in martial arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Judo, wrestling, & Muay Thai is my outlet for improving my mental health and becoming a better person.

On this ninth episode of the podcast, I interview the legendary Robert Drysdale. Robert is a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, an undefeated MMA fighter, an ADCC absolute champion, and an IBJJF world champion. He coaches Jiu-Jitsu at the highest levels out of his academy in Las Vegas. Recently, he has also created both the Opening the Closed Guard film and book about the history of Jiu-Jitsu and how grappling has evolved over time.

On this episode, we discuss the mindset that is developed through training in martial arts over a lifetime. We also get into a discussion of the differences and similarities between someone who competes at a world class level vs. someone who trains part time in the martial arts. Robert shares his wisdom and gets into what he learned by studying the ancestors of modern day grappling.
